Matthew Grishman
Author and Recovering Spendaholic

Matthew helps people get unstuck and figure out what’s next. His unique ability is to listen and connect deeply with people. Matthew can see blind spots quickly. Through stories and simple analogies, he makes solutions seem very real. This has allowed him to create deep relationships that last a lifetime.

Matthew has devoted his life to helping people find clarity, confidence, and capability in the three most complicated relationships in life; money, people, and self. His clients are individuals and families faced with one or more of life’s hardest changes; like the death of a loved one, divorce, changing employers, the sale of a business, or planning for retirement – any planned or unplanned circumstance that creates a state of limbo, where the steps forward are unclear, where they are feeling stuck and often overwhelmed. This is why Matthew and his clients place tremendous value on creating a long-term relationship.

Matthew began his career in financial services in 1995 with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. and became fully licensed as an Investment Broker in 1996. He spent 17 years as a national spokesperson for large mutual fund and insurance companies, impacting thousands of financial advisors and their clients throughout his career.

Matthew left the corporate side of financial services in 2011 and set out to reinvent himself; to devote his time and experience in financial services to his family, friends and neighbors. After a three-year walkabout of reflection and self-exploration, Matthew joined Gebhardt Group, Inc. in 2014, an independent Registered Investment Advisor. He became an owner of the firm in 2015.

Matthew resides with his wife, Amie, and their two sons, Miles and Lucas, in Rocklin, California. When not working with clients, Matthew spends his time with family and friends, exploring amazing outdoor places like Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe, the California Coast, as well as baseball parks and big cities around the world.

Matthew received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from the State University of New York at Albany in Albany, New York in June of 1994. He holds a State of California Insurance License for Life, Accident, Disability and Health Insurance. His registrations include Series 65 (IAR).
