Making Mistakes
I was taught that the only real mistake I will ever make, is the one in which I’ve learned nothing! Today I know that for me to be wise, I need to learn from my mistakes. All humans make mistakes, but only a wise human can learn from them.
The most important life lessons I will ever learn will be from the bad decisions I make. I need to embrace and learn from my mistakes so that I do not run the risk of repeating them. I must develop the wisdom and sense to make good decisions and choices. Good judgment will only develop if I truly learn from my mistakes. Some people have no problem with following directions and warnings; however, I am (no longer) stubborn and (used to) hate to follow directions. I personally don’t (didn’t) learn by others advice and warnings, it must (had to) be experiential. This method is known as Learning Everything the Hard Way!
Today my Goal is to remain open minded and teachable, to live life with a beginner’s mind.
Questions to ask myself today:
• Am I open-minded and teachable?
• Am I stubborn and hate to follow directions?
• Am I still suffering consequences of my best thinking?
• Am I able to accept my humanness today?
Be grateful and realize that life is a series of lessons to be learned from.
